Ivett Jakab holds an MSc in Health policy, planning and financing (2016) and a BA in Business and Management (2014). During her studies, she spent her internships at the Hungarian Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Office (2016) and at the Hungarian Organ Coordination Office (2014). She was selected to be a member of the European Health Parliament’s 2018 cohort, joining the Innovation and Value Committee. Between 2017 and 2022 she was working as a researcher at Syreon Research Institute, leading the Patient Policy Research Unit.

She has been volunteering for local patient organizations in the field of organ transplantation since 2011. She graduated from the European Patients’ Forum (EPF) Summer Training for Young Patient Advocates (STYPA) program in 2018 and supported the 2019 edition as a team leader. She became the President of the EPF Youth Group in 2020, working to strengthen the young patients’ voice throughout Europe. She is an EUPATI Fellow graduated in 2021 and a member of the EUPATI Board of Trustees. Her research interests are in patient involvement in healthcare decision-making on all levels, medication adherence enhancing interventions and digital health. Her mission is to bring the perspectives of different stakeholders in healthcare closer together.

Ivett is a patient herself; she had an acute liver transplant in 2008 due to a rare genetic disorder called Wilson’s disease.
