Datapharm
Trusted Medical Information
Datapharm

Datapharm was formed in 1977 to publish medicines information on behalf of the pharmaceutical industry. In 1999 we launched emc which has become the UK’s most comprehensive, trusted and accessible source of information about medicines. DataPharm is an associate partner of IMI.

At Datapharm we use digital platforms to improve the accessibility and usefulness of medicines information to our audience of over 70 million visitors per year. We partner with a wide range of professional and voluntary health organizations to improve health literacy and decision making about medicines for patients, carers, healthcare professionals and the pharmaceutical industry. These organizations include the NHS, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, European Medicines Agency, the Department of Health & Social Care, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry and the Royal National Institute of Blind People.
Our tasks
in the project
DataPharm will be active in three sections within the project: WP1 (to identify user needs), WP5 (to bring all components together providing tools for interoperability to accelerate the wide deployment of the Gravitate Health open-source platform services, FOSPS), and WP7, the section that will develop an exploitation and sustainability plan to ensure a viable future to the project outputs.

Our contribution to the project

We are leading experts in electronic prescribing information. We convert thousands of medicine safety documents (SmPCs, Patient Leaflets, etc) every year into xml.
