Karolinska Institutet (KI) is Sweden’s single largest centre of medical academic research and offers the country’s widest range of medical courses and programs. KI has 5000 employees and is ranked #3 for research quality in Europe. With close relationship to the clinical milieu, a well-established infrastructure and a stable financial situation, KI has excellent prerequisites for sustaining high quality research and education. with individual countries.

Research at KI spans the entire medical field, from basic experimental research to patient-oriented and nursing research. KI has collaboration agreements in research and education with a large number of universities the world over, with companies in the biomed and biotech sectors and also with individual countries.
Our tasks
in the project
KI co-Leads WPI, (key word: Listening) develops the information model, the decision structure and does the semantic work-up; will analyse the different scenarios and contribute one testing scenario on medication reconciliation and collaborative care plan, and therefore active in project sections related with engagement (WP2), end-user tools (WP4), bringing all components together (WP5), and evaluation (WP6).

2Cofounder and Board-member of International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurements (ICHOM).

A TASTE OF OUR WORK

KI was idea supplier and later participated in the leadership for the 4D project 2012-2016 for the development of clinical pathways in 4 diagnoses that were implemented across all care in a region. Harmonising of outcomes measurement sets across diagnoses (2,700 terms covering >50% of the disease burden). Finalized in 2020.
