MEDICAL HEALTH INFORMATICS CONFERENCE

Workshop “G-Lens to focus medication information – opportunities with structured ePI standard”
29th - 31st May 2021 from 9:00 to 18:30 CEST (UTC +2) - Virtual Event

We are thrilled to announce that Gravitate Health will be present at the Medical Health Informatics (MIE) 2021 Conference.

Our project has been selected to hold a workshop on Sunday 30th of May from 14:00 to 15:00 CEST.

The workshop is titled “G-Lens to focus medication information – opportunities with structured ePI standard” and is hosted by our Project Coordinator, Prof Anne Moen, University of Oslo, and Coordination Lead, Catherine Chronaki, HL7 International Foundation Europe, with the collaboration of Arif Govani (Datapharm), Robert Vander Stichele (European Institute for Innovation through Health Data), Petter Hurlen (Akershus University Hospital), and Martin Ingvar (Karolinska Institutet).

The objectives of the workshop are to:

  • Discuss G-Lens functionality that will focus medication information from trusted sources.
  • Investigate the combination of the IPS – International Patient Summary – with curated information about medication lists for wider use and its potential to drive significant benefits for health professionals’ constituencies involved in medication management (prescribing, dispensing and administrating).
  • Engage the workshop audience in scenarios that will give examples where it is beneficial to focus and combine personally relevant, context-aware and trustworthy health information via the G-lens concept.
  • Draw relevant conclusions for the collaborative work steered in Gravitate Health where we will develop and test the G-Lens concept.

Overall, the workshop intends to trigger constructive discussions about the opportunities, posed among others by the forthcoming ePI proof of concept standard, for a new digital health information experience with novel tools, where citizens are confident, active and responsive in personal health management, specifically encouraging safe use of medicines for better health outcomes and quality of life.

About MIE2021

The 31st edition of the Medical Informatics Europe Conference arranged by the European Federation for Medical Informatics focuses on the topic of “Public Health and Informatics”.

The Conference is organized by the “MCO Congress” and the Scientific Programme Committee is chaired by Professor John Mantas, Fellow of EFMI, and President of the Greek Biomedical and Health Informatics Association (GBHI).

The MIE2021 conference is a unique opportunity to meet experts from all involved fields, from deep learning or genomics, up to human factors, ethical and societal aspects. Involving patients and citizens will also be at the centre of the debates, along with European projects, patients’ organizations, and patient-partners’ groups, to discuss innovative ways to reach an active involvement and participation that can leverage the field.
